Perfectionism

The following quote really struck me.....

Perfectionism is the voice of the oppressor, the enemy of the people. It will keep you cramped and insane your whole life…

…I think perfectionism is based on the obsessive belief that if you run carefully enough, hitting each stepping stone just right, you won’t have to die. The truth is that you will die anyway and that a lot of people who aren’t even looking at their feet are going to do a whole lot better than you, and have a lot more fun while they’re doing it.”

I haven't written in awhile. Finished another course (the IT course). It was really great. Learned lots of valuable new knowledge.

I have the 2nd residency coming up in a few weeks. Its another 10 day residency. The first 5 days will be the statistics course. The 2nd 5 days will be the first dissertation course.

I have chapters 1 and 2 drafted. Chapter 3 is underway. The first 2 have been reviewed by one of the faculty -- with lots of edits back. I decided to take the week off, leave town and work on it this week. I am devoting approximately 3 hours each morning to writing/editing. I haven't made any commitments yet to how I will spend the afternoons. Yesterday, in lieu of writing, I took a VERY long nap.
